Cult of the Dragon

Cult

Known Origin

Based on an ancient religion that worshipped the Dragon King in Tearfall, the Cult of the Dragon survived the great collapse of draconic civilization. They went undercover around the continent and waited until the time had come for the new Age of Dragons.

Many rumours spread across Grym and Valor that the Cult had found allies within the government structures to remain vigilant. They divided their followers into chapters and were once called the Unknown God worshippers to cover their true intents. They also tried entering Mornir for their knowledge about spells and rituals, but they ended up doing what they could in the libraries of the Empires of Men instead.

The great collapse exiled the Cult of the Dragon from a region called Tearfall, and with the advent of several monsters and the lack of interest for Empires to conquer that difficult terrain, the Cult's reach was stopped and the throne of their overlords remained abandoned.

Fortunately, a group of adventurers ended up releasing their overlords, and every single cell that was dormant in a city was instigated by the pure clasp of magical power that caused the rupture of the Seal the Roghnaithe had prepared for their foes. Instantly, they navigated to the island and captured the magical place called Lumeria, and cloaked it in magic.

Last Seen...

Conquering Lumeria was, without a doubt a strategic move that scared the main armies of Hom, but was not without its weaknesses.

On one hand, they gained unknonw territory with magical potential to complete as many rituals they wanted, and had resources to rebuild cities and armies. On the other hand, they were, now, trying to get back to the continent, which was on high alert as it was. A first attempt at returning to the continent came from an attack to Tearfall itself, where a Dragon was killed by a mysterious figure known as The Holy Man.

Later on, a group of fighters and teachers fought agains the Cult of the Dragon not once, but twice, breaking the closest link to the continent that the Cult had with continent. The last time operatives from the Cult of the Dragon were seen, they were with a strange figure called Dain Rykker, and killed the first born son of the King of Valor. They were also successful into letting some soldiers in through Kaer, a port city from Falanor.
